Bench Dogs

I built my workbench with 3/4"-dia. holes for round bench dogs. But instead of buying bench dogs, I made mine out of short lengths of 3/4"-dia. dowel stock. To give the bench dogs a better grip and prevent them from falling through the dog holes, I added a rubber "crutch tip" to one end of each dog. (Crutch tips can be purchased at most hardware stores).
